1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to PassMyPic, an iOS and iPadOS application developed and operated by Jianhui Liu, China (“PassMyPic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). PassMyPic prepares image files to meet user-selected technical requirements.
2. Information processed by the App
Photos and files you choose
When you select an image from Photos or Files, PassMyPic creates a temporary local copy to inspect and process it. The App may read technical properties such as file type, pixel dimensions, file size, transparency, color space, and metadata needed to prepare the output. The original file is not overwritten or deleted by PassMyPic.
Requirement screenshots and text
If you choose the requirement-scanning feature, Apple Vision recognizes English text from the selected screenshot on your device. The screenshot is stored only at a randomized temporary location for recognition and is then removed. Recognized text is not sent to us.
Saved rules and preferences
If you save a named rule, the App stores its name and technical settings in the App’s local Application Support directory. Saved rules do not include photo URLs, image filenames, recognized text, or image metadata. The App also stores the number of free exports used and basic App preferences locally.
Purchase information
Apple processes purchases, family sharing eligibility, refunds, transaction verification, and purchase restoration. PassMyPic receives only the information Apple makes available through StoreKit that is needed to determine whether the lifetime entitlement is active. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Support communications
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. Do not send passwords, full payment information, or other highly sensitive information.
3. Information we do not collect through the App
PassMyPic does not require your name, email address, telephone number, account credentials, precise location, contacts, advertising identifier, or profile. The App does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information.
Location embedded inside an image is different from the device’s live location. PassMyPic removes GPS metadata from processed output by default. If you turn off the location-metadata option, the output may preserve metadata present in the source image.
4. Storage, retention, and deletion
- Temporary input and output files: stored locally while you use the workflow and removed when the App clears or replaces the workflow. Files you deliberately save or share are controlled by the destination you select.
- Saved rules and preferences: remain locally until you delete them in the App, reset relevant settings, or remove the App and its local data.
- iCloud and CloudKit: PassMyPic does not implement iCloud or CloudKit synchronization.
- Developer servers: PassMyPic does not upload photos, OCR text, or saved rules to a server operated by us.
- Support email: retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
Deleting the App normally removes data stored inside its local container. Copies you exported to Photos, Files, email, messaging, or another service are not deleted by removing PassMyPic.
5. Apple and third-party services
PassMyPic uses Apple system frameworks including PhotosUI, document picking, Vision, ImageIO, and StoreKit. Your use of Apple services, including the App Store and purchase processing, is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Apple may process purchase, device, diagnostic, or crash information independently, depending on your device and App Store settings.
The App does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, payment, cloud-storage, or social-network SDKs.
6. Why information is processed
Local information is processed to import an image, interpret requirements you provide, prepare and verify an output, remember your saved rules and free-export usage, and restore purchased functionality. Support information is processed to respond to you and protect the support channel.
8. Security
PassMyPic reduces exposure by processing images on device, using temporary randomized filenames, avoiding developer-operated image accounts and servers, and requesting access only through Apple’s system file and photo selection interfaces. No method of storage or communication can be guaranteed absolutely secure.
9. Your choices and rights
You choose which images and requirement screenshots to provide, where outputs are shared, whether location metadata is removed, and whether rules are saved. You can delete saved rules in the App and can remove local App data by deleting the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information you send to support, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to identify the relevant support conversation.
10. Children’s privacy
PassMyPic is a general-purpose utility and is not directed specifically to children. The App does not require an account and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the App. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information to support may contact us to request deletion.
11. Policy changes
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the App, law, or our practices. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App when appropriate.
